This unique and idyllic location, in a beautiful natural setting, but also in the heart of the village of Schondorf, offers endless possibilities to students with all kinds of interests. There are watersports, like sailing and crew, mountain biking or climbing in the Alps, swimming at our campus dock, ball sports, like hockey, basketball or volleyball, tennis on our school courts and horseback riding. We also offer indoor sports, such as dance or climbing in our on-campus climbing gym. In the various houses spread throughout our village-like campus, students interested in the arts and trades have many unique opportunities to acquire skills in areas such as blacksmithery, carpentry, gardening, or stage crew.
During the winter skiers are spoiled by the school’s close proximity to the Alps. The various cultural offerings in the city of Munich provide us with the chance for frequent trips to the theater, to concerts and to exhibitions.
Despite its rural setting, the Landheim is an ideal starting point for excursions and for regional and international travel. Munich Central Station is just under forty minutes away by train. Additionally the Munich S-Bahn (commuter train) stops in the nearby village of Geltendorf and transports students to Munich airport in just over an hour. Moreover, Schondorf’s advantageous location just off of highway A96 enables car travel to Munich’s city center in less than thirty minutes and to the airport in forty-five minutes.
Landheim Schondorf owns a cabin on a five-hectare plot in a lakeside natural reserve in Uffing on the Staffelsee. This cabin is used for excursions and group trips for students.
