Taking on responsibility is a point of emphasis for middle school students. They become mentors for younger pupils, organize projects and events, get involved in community service off campus, and lead and participate in school assemblies designed to guide and reflect on life in the community. Middle school students vote for student council members from among their peers and learn to understand and accept democratic processes.
